June’s thought from Fr. Chet

From Arise, A Christian Psychology of Love (about authenticity)
“If our love for the truth is genuine, we will keep ourselves open to every opportunity to grow in knowledge of ourselves.  We will pray frequently to God to show us the truth, to give us the courage to face it, and to do something constructive about it.  Having prayed, we will keep ourselves open to whatever inspirations and intuitions that might come our way.  Through the voice of conscience, the words of others and the events of divine providence God will speak to us and show us the way.  It is not for us to choose the time and place for learning the truth: we must be always ready and willing to be humbled by some new and unexpected revelation about ourselves.  If we sincerely want the truth, we can be reasonably certain that God will provide it.”
